There is no date. The order is a closed alpha by invite, then open servers. The dev log carries news as it happens.
A web browser. There is nothing to install.
It is designed for desktop and phone browsers, with both in the same district rooms. So far it has been tested only in Chromium, on a desktop and on an emulated phone.
Nothing has been measured on a real phone or a real graphics card.
Partly built
A gamepad works in the open world but not yet in the dive fight. Touch controls are in the same state.
In the development build, district rooms are shared, squads work, and friends and block lists exist. The one dive is solo, and co-op dives are designed. See Crews, squads and dens.
Designed
No. Duels are designed with an absolute opt-out, and the Deadband gate makes you declare a banner before you go in. None of it is built yet. See PvP.
No. Everyone starts on foot, and the game is designed so every critical path can be finished on foot. That rule is the fledgling guarantee. Your first travel line opens at Operator 10, at the Clinic. See First Splice.
Operator 50. See Operator levels.
Partly built
Reduced motion works and follows your system setting. Flash reduction, colour-blind rarity colours and key rebinding are not built yet.
English.
An account needs an invite code, and the owner hands the codes out. The game's own sign-in screen says: "Closed alpha: you need an invite code from the owner to be registered."
There is no request form and no waitlist yet, so nothing on this site can get you a code.
Sign in with your handle and the 12-word recovery phrase the game gave you when you registered. It is shown once and nobody can show it to you again, so write it down. The game sends no mail, so there is no reset email, and if you lose both the password and the phrase the account is gone. Nobody from City of Legends will ever ask you for the phrase.
No price has been announced.
No. Nothing in the creator is generated by AI. You set every build, slider, piece and colour yourself, and Randomize only gives you a starting point. See the creator.
The dev log has write-ups and an RSS feed. The origin comics are the other thing to read. There are no official social accounts or newsletter yet.
No. The art and video on this site are AI-generated concept art, not in-game footage. The credit is at the foot of every page.
Start with the history of Catena and the districts. The bestiary covers what the city sends at a Legend, and the people page covers who runs it. The glossary explains the words.
