Vector walks past a long queue of dockworkers outside a clinic with a syringe sign, a rifle over his shoulder.

Archetypes

An archetype is the line you fight in. Seven can be chosen in the creator, and the eighth is earned.

What an archetype changes

No power is locked behind an archetype. Its aptitude adds an upside to the powers that fit and takes nothing away from the rest.

On the street an archetype is called a line, a way of fighting that someone proved first and everyone after learned from them. People say they run the Vector line, and hundreds do. None of them is VECTOR.

Hundreds run it. None of them are me. Say it back.

The eight

In the dev build The creator runs in the development build. Only SALVO's kit runs in a fight.

In the build, every Legend fights with SALVO's kit.

Seven can be chosen in the creator and Revenant is shown locked. Every other kit is the game's design, and the table says which. Two of the role labels differ from the names in the game's data, because enemies already use those words. The creator prints Vanguard and Conductor.

Doctrine trees

Partly built The Wetware Grid saves your picks and the server checks them. Most nodes do nothing in a fight yet.

Each archetype has a doctrine tree on the Wetware Grid, and every tree has the same shape. Forks are exclusive: taking one node closes the other. Revenant's tree is read-only until the rite is done. It shows in full, so you can see where you are walking.

  1. Fundamentals

  2. Feeders

  3. Doctrine forks

    Two nodes, one pick.

  4. Continuations

  5. Grand fork

The last choice before the capstone. Two nodes, one pick.

  6. Capstone

    Closes the tree.

Birthright

Partly built The Forge screen saves your frame. Most set abilities do not run yet.

A powerset inside your archetype's discipline can be framed from creation. Sets outside it wait for their own unlock.
