Board flight
Fluxboard
The freight plates in the Yards never had their levitation permission revoked.
What it is
In the workshop The tree exists as a preview. The line is not issued, and nothing here is promised.
- Kind
- Gear. You build it and wear it, so a Cleanskin can run it.
- Terrain
- Long descending lines: the Coil apron, the expressway deck, the Market Row spiral.
- Opens at
- Not issued yet.
- Cost to master
- 22 points.
Somebody welded handles onto one, and nobody at the Registry has a form for what you are doing on it.
The cost
It cannot climb. Every metre of altitude is borrowed from an updraft, a ramp, or speed you already had, and the glide spends it on the way to wherever you are going. It is no use indoors, from a standing start or over open water, and a wall at speed takes you off the deck.
The tree
In the workshop The Operator 30 node also asks for this line's story, which is designed.
Seven tiers, from Operator 10 to Operator 50. The choices come at Operator 15 (Wide Deck or Short Deck) and Operator 40 (Trickline or Freight), and taking one closes the other.
- Operator 10
Wake
The Plate. The board exists: a quick deploy, a cruise and full carve authority. There is no glide yet, so off an edge you simply fall.
- Operator 15
Form fork
Take one. Wide Deck. You survive contact that used to dismount you. Short Deck. A longer kickflip and a tighter turn.
- Operator 20
Reach
The Glide. A faster cruise, and a long glide off any edge.
- Operator 25
Cadence
Thermal Ride. Grind marked rails. An updraft is the only thing that lifts you.
- Operator 30
Questline node
Delivery Spec. A faster cruise, a longer glide, and one ollie that finally gains height.
- Operator 40
Apex fork
Take one. Trickline. Chained kickflips pay a style stack, and the stack pays Sync. Freight. An ally rides pillion through the whole line, glide included.
- Operator 50
Capstone
Ride The Field Lines. A carve through an updraft turns the whole column into forward speed instead of height.
The Coil apron drops four hundred metres over two kilometres. That is a road.
Thirty vent columns in this city, and you have all thirty memorised in a week.
You do not fly. You ride what the city forgot it was still holding up.
Culture
Exemplar. The Yards freight crews, and one very good welder.
