Flight
Skybreak
The Lattice never revoked the sky.
What it is
In the dev build The line runs in the development build.
- Kind
- Weave. The Clinic installs it at the First Splice.
- Terrain
- Open sky, rooftop to rooftop, across the whole city.
- Opens at
- Operator 10, at the First Splice.
- Cost to master
- 22 points.
You hold a maintenance permission for altitude, and you intend to use all of it.
The cost
The most punished line in a fight. Engagement clamps your speed and locks boost, hovering in combat bleeds Strain, you are the biggest silhouette in the sky, and Meridian's no-fly domes were built to deny this line.
The tree
In the dev build The Operator 30 node also asks for this line's story, which is designed.
Seven tiers, from Operator 10 to Operator 50. The choices come at Operator 15 (Thermal Read or Dead Lift) and Operator 40 (Sonic Dive or Cargo Writ), and taking one closes the other.
- Operator 10
Wake
First Lift. Flight exists, under a low ceiling.
- Operator 15
Form fork
Take one. Thermal Read. Ride the city's updrafts for free lift, and hover in combat for less Strain. Dead Lift. A big charged launch that can carry a consenting ally.
- Operator 20
Reach
Cruising Altitude. A higher ceiling and a faster cruise. Boost unlocks.
- Operator 25
Cadence
Full Attitude. Full three-dimensional steering, and a faster boost.
- Operator 30
Questline node
Ceiling Breaker. The line's top speed, and the sonic boom.
- Operator 40
Apex fork
Take one. Sonic Dive. A committed dive attack that turns speed into an impact. Cargo Writ. Carry allies the whole way.
- Operator 50
Capstone
The Sky Was Never Revoked. A faster boost ramp, strain-free hover bursts against the city's enemies, and a takeoff panel of its own.
The permission was always in the alloy. Doc Splice only tells it out loud.
The first time the Junction is a shape instead of a street.
You stop steering the sky and start wearing it.
They wrote you out of the register in 2081. The air never got the memo.
Culture
Exemplar. The Kindling-era Legend of the Mural Reel.
Skybreak splicers skew showy and social.
