Super swim
Tiderunner
The Deepworks never stopped pumping.
What it is
In the dev build The line runs in the development build.
- Kind
- Weave. The Clinic installs it at the First Splice.
- Terrain
- The Cut, the Harbor Basin, the Low Sea, the flooded Lowline, and everything under them.
- Opens at
- Operator 10, at the First Splice.
- Cost to master
- 22 points.
Down there the city still runs on schedule, and it knows you. The only line that is faster below the surface than above it.
The cost
Water only. On any dry rooftop you are a Legend with no traversal power and a slow skim on wet ground. The routed water network is real and connected, and it is still nowhere near the coverage of the sky.
The tree
In the dev build The Operator 30 node also asks for this line's story, which is designed.
Seven tiers, from Operator 10 to Operator 50. The choices come at Operator 15 (Planing Hull or Deep Draft) and Operator 40 (Undertow or Reader), and taking one closes the other.
- Operator 10
Wake
Held Breath. Fast swimming from the first node, and faster below the surface than above it. There is no breath meter.
- Operator 15
Form fork
Take one. Planing Hull. Faster on the surface. Deep Draft. Faster below it.
- Operator 20
Reach
Dolphin Entry. A dive in from height turns impact speed into swim speed.
- Operator 25
Cadence
Read The Flow. Swimming with a current multiplies its push, and wet ground on land lets you hydroplane.
- Operator 30
Questline node
Deepworks Clearance. A top submerged speed, and the breach: leave the water upward at speed.
- Operator 40
Apex fork
Take one. Undertow. Tow an ally along your line. Reader. A live ribbon showing every current in the district.
- Operator 50
Capstone
The Low Sea Is Yours. The line's top submerged speed, faster under the city than most Legends are over it.
There was never a breath meter. There was never going to be one.
The drop into the Cut is thirty metres. Spend it.
A clearance nobody has issued since the Deepworks flooded, which is exactly why it still validates.
Catena drowned its own basement in '79 and called it containment.
Culture
Exemplar. The Deepworks crews, who never came up.
