The Gantry Line
Decommissioned loading arms, joined into one continuous grind-rail and wall-run route. It is the proving ground for Freerunner and Redline, and a time-trial course from end to end. A timekeeper clocks the runs.

Scrapline Union's harbour, and the first crane the city ever raised.
Mapped The streets and the cranes are laid out in the build. Scrapline's board, the Med-Fund and the time trial are the game's design.
Dockside gantries and salvage cranes left over from the Deepworks build crews. The same cranes that lowered the first cable trunks now haul scrap for the union whose members built the city.
Scrapline Union holds the Yards wall to wall. It is the one district where showing up without a union card gets you looked at twice, licence or none. The economy is materials, salvage, and weapon blueprints that nobody paid full price for.
There is no fighting here, and the container stacks are built to topple. Graviton suits the place: its swingers took to the tether the way their grandparents took to a crane cable.

The first crane, the one that lowered the first trunk cable. The union maintains it, and it is also a grave marker. The unwritten rule is that nobody races off it on a day the book has been opened.

Big Ferro's union hall, on the quay. The name is a pun on the book kept inside it, and Scrapline stopped finding it funny a long time ago. After the whistle the floor fills, and when the book comes out everybody stops talking. See the book.
Where the Catena Cut ends, below the gantries, with the Dry Dock beside it. In the first winter after the Seal the Yards ran a hot meal on the Basin quay for the city's hungry. Kindling Night comes from that meal.
Where the original trunk goes under the water, at the Basin end. It rises out of the ground and is warm to the hand. The union brings things here, and the book never leaves the Ledger House. It is the quiet grave of the district and the last of the four walls.
A work-glove hangs over the head. There has been a new one every year for twelve years, and it is never the same pair. There is no writing on the head itself, not one mark in twelve years, in a district that writes everything down.
A mural in the Gantry Line underpass: eight hands, with the faces left as bare concrete, and a work chant painted into the border. See the murals.
A cable-broth cart that has been the locals' unofficial meeting room for nineteen years.
People live three and four generations deep in the walk-ups behind the Basin. The union is their landlord and their clinic, and it buries them. Nobody asks about your paperwork. They ask whether you have eaten.
We built this city and it's never once said thanks.

Benefits are paid here in person, 17:20, two lines. No speeches.
THE AUDIT OPENS THE 14TH. Bring the roll, bring your card, bring lunch. It goes to the 19th.

Scrapline's contract board hangs in the Ledger House, and the union's Med-Fund runs its own clinic for members. Materials and Frame variants are sold here. The only faction questline open before the Splice is Scrapline's, and it starts with day labour on the salvage lines. See Scrapline Union.
